It prepares the student for a career in the medical field as a medical billing and coding specialist. Medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT and HCPC are essential components of this program. Students must be able to demonstrate good skills in the classroom and at the clinical site with a view toward passing the National Certification Examination.

Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED and/or 6 months of experience as a healthcare paraprofessional.
